Our world-class, hand-crafted custom log homes are constructed primarily with Engelmann Spruce and Douglas Fir, although we use Western Red Cedar for some designs.  The average size of the log is 12 to 16 inches (or larger) in diameter.  The tight-grained timber is between 80 and 140 years old. At Log Home Specialists, we not only work responsibly, we also acquire our lumber in the same manner. Our lumber is harvested from designated forestry areas which are replanted every two years, with five trees planted for every tree harvested.
